I'm Barbie the girl behind the lens here at Oakley Photography! I am a sweet tea drinking, back porch swinging, country loving, mama to the sweetest little guy, sassy little girl and wife to my hard working hubby!
I enjoy spending as much time as possible with my family building our house and growing our homestead! Saturday nights at the dirt track and Sunday mornings with a big ol' cup of coffee! Im a small town girl who has big wild dreams! I'm a lover of all things love and those sweet babes of yours!

Where did my journey begin?

As a child having a camera in my hand was just something I had, as a photographer having a camera in my hand is who I am! I never grew up knowing a wanted to be a photographer mater a fact I wanted to be an OBGYN, then a dance teacher, then a childcare provider! One thing I always knew I wanted to be was a mother and as any mother would tell you the images of your babies are some of the most cherished images you have! So where did my journey begin?..... It began when I became a mother!

My first year, I lost someone who was so important to me, Poppy

Trust me, I know how much you want to hold on to every second

I had been begging him to let me do a session with him and my Nana so I could practice! Something about Poppy was he didn't always want to, but he always did what I asked of him! We all enjoyed the session and had the opportunity to go around the little town both him and I had grown up in hearing new stories, laughing and spending time together! Little did I know just days later I would lose him! Having these images reminded and continues to remind me how important moments in life can be!
